This past weekend my best friend and I attended the digital summer camp event hosted by Create & Cultivate. Each year Create & Cultivate hosts an amazing event jam packed with workshops, panels, mentor power hours and delicious food and cocktails. If you aren’t familiar with C&C, I highly recommend checking them out as they are all about “entertaining, enlightening and informing women around key topics surrounding #sidehustle life, the ever changing digital landscape, entrepreneurship, and the real talk that comes with being a modern working woman.” Due to the current circumstances of COVID-19, this year’s event was moved online, but that didn’t stop up from soaking up all the amazing info and having a great time!
My best friend, Natalia (@nataliazigante – go follow her, she’s amazing), and I started off the morning with a ton of fresh fruit and C&C’s throwback camp playlist. On the day of the event, we were emailed our link to the camp, which held all the information we would need for the day. We were welcomed with a super cute forest themed gif and multiple schedules – one for live sessions and one for “watch whenever” workshops. Each video was accompanied by a downloadable presentation for us to keep (this was super useful for me since I’m a visual learner and love to take notes).
The 11 hour day was broken up into live sessions, workshops, keynotes, roundtable conversations, fireside chats and q&a’s. There were too many workshops to list but some of my faves were the morning keynote with Danielle Fishel Karp (hello Topanga) – all about her experience going from entertainer to clean-beauty entrepreneur; the digital workshop with ChloeDigital – all about building content marketing funnels; the roundtable conversation with a bunch of amazing ladies – all about how to build your following while creating a dedicated community; and another roundtable conversation with four super sweet girls which was about learning how to cultivate confidence and self-love both inside and out during the social media age.
Some of the other workshops that were super fun and interesting were the ones that focused on topics such as learning how to de-clutter your closet, how to make an insta-worthy floral arrangement, how to tackle your anxiety and live a happier life, how to leverage podcasting to build your brand and everything you need to know about TikTok.
Along with all the wonderful insight from the workshops, one of my favourite parts of the day was the “Connect & Network” aspect which allowed us to connect with other camp attendees in real time using the online platform “Slack”. All day, Natalia and I were introduced to some awesome ladies/brands who we connected with via Instagram (hello new supporters) and read all about their experience as the day was going on. This feature made the online experience come to life and I’m so thankful that C&C decided to launch this as I’ve met some great people who I can’t wait to connect with in the future!
As a first-time Create & Cultivate event attendee, I would definitely recommend joining to anyone who has a passion for learning new things, an interest in expanding their biz or simply knowing the importance of wellness, connection and good old-fashioned fun!
Create & Cultivate are hosting another digital summit on July 25th, which will focus on beauty, self-care, wellness and health, and you can bet on me being there for all of it!!
